Hardness Testing (HT)
Hardness Testing helps inspection personnel determine the metallurgical properties of materials and their hardness values. This NDT method focuses on evaluating the material’s ability to withstand environmental factors that could potentially harm the material when subjected to stress.
Level bespoke
Course Overview
Hardness Testing is a course aimed at personnel who are responsible for the hardness testing of materials on steel components used in the petrochemical and other associated industries including machine shops and fabrication yards.
Technicians will gain an understanding of applying hardness tests in accordance with standards and codes i.e. Vickers, Rockwell.C. and Brinell tables and charts.
Course Objectives
At the end of this course, personnel attending will leave with a better understanding of hardness testing on steels and the various terminology used within its application. They will be made familiar with reporting packages set by the customer and giving hardness values and will be educated in the use of different hardness testers i.e. Poldi, Equitip and others.
This course aims to create a solid foundation for those who work within the manufacturing and processing industries.
