Magnetic Particle Inspection (SNT) – Recertification

If your current MT SNT qualification is due to expire or has expired within the last 6 months, you have reached the right page!

Please note, candidates must sit an SNT recertification examination within 6 months of their SNT certification expiry date or 6 months after their SNT certification expiry date.

Sitting the recertification examination within 6 months after the expiry date does NOT extend the certificate expiry date, just the time the candidates are allowed to sit the recertification examination. If unable to complete the recertification examination within this period, the candidate will be required to sit an initial examination.

Pre-Requisites

Holds a valid/current MT Qualification (in applicable level/scheme you are applying for).

SNT Recertification Examinations should be sat no earlier than 6 months before expiry date and no later than the expiry date.

 

Interested in Refresher Training?

INTERESTED IN REFRESHER TRAINING?

We find that candidates who book at least a half or 1 day of refresher training prior to their recertification examination feel more confident in attempting the renewal examination.

Whats included in refresher training?

By booking in refresher training, the student will receive a refresher on elements that may be covered in the recertification examination. This may include theory or practical samples. With guidance of our NDT Trainers students can choose to refresher using mock theory papers or be set up with practical samples to test and report on using technical instruction. Students will be provided with a brief summary on their performance prior to the student sitting the examination.

Please note: Refresher Training is not a one-to-one basis. The Students refresher training elements (e.g. theory papers, samples etc.) will be initially be set up by the NDT Trainer who will be available to answer any questions between their respective duties.

Exam Content

This SNT recertification examination may consist of the following elements (examination content is in accordance with the Employers SNT-TC-1A Company Written Practice):

  • *Specific Theory Paper
  • 3 practical samples (**using a bench unit)
    • 1x weld sample
    • 1x forged sample
    • 1x cast sample

* The specific paper will be in accordance with the industry standard reference in your company’s CWP document and inspection procedure. Array Training recommend reviewing the company’s inspection procedure and related industry standard before attempting your Specific Theory Paper.

**If the candidate needs a refresher on how to operate a bench unit, we would recommend booking in for half day or full day refresher training.

Duration

The duration for this examination will be approx. 4-5 hours.

SELF SPONSORS FOR SNT BOOKINGS: Please note as the SNT qualification scheme is company specific, the SNT certification will be sent to the company directly as their name is stated the certificate even if paid by the candidate directly.
